Electro-Voice Comes to the Aid of Bridge Disaster Victims

Exclusive studio and live tracks comprise the lineup of the now available 3-CD benefit compilation from pro audio equipment manufacturer Electro-Voice and parent company Robert Bosch North America LLC. 100% of the proceeds raised through the sale of the CD will be donated to the Minnesota Helps: Bridge Disaster Fund. For a list of participating music retailers, please visit www.electrovoice.com/musiciansforminneapolis.
The compilation features both released and unreleased tracks from Los Lobos, Dick Dale, Steve Vai, DJ Spooky, Howe Gelb, Sparklehorse, Calexico, Les Claypool, Joey DeFrancesco, Jim Lauderdale, Joe Bonamassa, George Clinton, Lee Scratch Perry, and many more.
The benefit originates from Electro-Voice’s historic and current artist endorsement program and the global philanthropic efforts of its parent company, Robert Bosch North America LLC, a division of Bosch, globally renowned for innovations in the automotive, power tool, appliance, security, and heating technology industries, among others.
Bosch Communications Systems Vice President, Americas, Tom Hansen remarks: “In keeping with the Bosch tradition of philanthropy, we decided to turn this well-meaning concern into charitable action, inviting friends of Electro-Voice from across all musical genres to participate in a benefit CD Project: Musicians for Minneapolis: 57 Songs for the I-35W Bridge Disaster Relief Effort. We’ve also partnered with major music retailers and hope to make a significant financial contribution to the relief fund. Electro-Voice (EV) has been a part of America’s musical community for 80 years, so it’s great to see such a wide range of artists join forces to support EV’s local community in a time of need.”
In tandem with the release of Musicians for Minneapolis: 57 Songs for the I-35W Bridge Disaster Relief Effort Electro-Voice will also be launching a celebrity memorabilia charity auction for the same cause, which includes two signed Les Paul guitars from Ozzy Osbourne/Black Label Society guitar phenom Zakk Wylde, a Dean bass signed by all members of Megadeth, a custom Minarik Dick Dale flame guitar, and an Ibanez guitar signed by guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, among other items to be listed in upcoming days at www.electrovoice.com/musicansforminneapolis.
The company is also planning an official CD launch party in Minneapolis featuring national artists from the CD compilation. Again, please visit www.electrovoice.com/musiciansforminneapolis for more details.
