Eighteen Sound Debuts Five New Coaxial Loudspeakers At Prolight+Sound

Eighteen Sound's new Neodymium coaxial products released at Prolight + Sound 2014: 12NCX750, 15NCX750 and 15NCX1000.

Eighteen Sound debuted five new products that join its growing family of coaxial loudspeakers, and they were on display at the recent Prolight+Sound/Messe in Frankfurt.

The new 8CX650 and 10CX650 feature ferrite motors and provide extended LF. Each has a nominal dispersion of 90 degrees. The 2.5-inch (65-mm) LF copper voice coil employs the company’s proprietary Interleaved Sandwich Voice coil (ISV) technology.

Both models also have a 1.75-inch (44 mm) diameter HF diaphragm that helps exceptional HF behavior. And, the 8CX650 is Atmos compatible and ready.

The 12NCX750 and 15NCX750 are two of the three neodymium new coaxial products that were released at the show. These high-output coax pairs are well-suited for compact reflex enclosures and stage monitors that require substantial detail and power.

Both transducers have a nominal dispersion of 80 degrees, comprised of a 3-inch (75 mm) ISV LF voice coil and a 2.4-inch (60 mm) HF pure titanium diaphragm. Both models are compatible with Eighteen Sound proprietary horns, and are currently shipping.

Rounding out the new neodymium releases is the 15NCX1000, with a pure titanium 4-inch (100 mm) diaphragm responsible for accuracy and power at the highest frequencies. The dual magnet motor structure provides the power required for high SPL applications.
