A recently opened 1,500-seat events center at the Oaklawn Racing Casino in Hot Springs, AR is equipped with a high-end sound reinforcement system designed by Marsh/PMK International and installed by TMG Systems that utilizes ADAPTive components — specifically, Anna loudspeakers and Otto subwoofers — from EAW.
Jerrold Stevens led the design effort for Marsh/PMK (Richardson, TX), while this marks the second project TMG Systems (Las Vegas) has worked on with Stevens in which EAW ADAPTive was deployed. “The system is configured as a left/right hang with eight Anna units and six Otto subs per side, complete with a four-box center cluster for down fill,” says Mark LaBouff, national sales manager, TMG Systems. “The ability of the EAW ADAPTive line to be really targeted in the vertical domain was particularly important in this application, along with the ability to set numerous presets to provide optimal coverage when the room is set up in different configurations for various types of events.”
EAW Resolution software along with additional reference resources were employed in the system tuning proecess. For LaBouff and his team, the system’s ease of use and simple set up, coupled with its outstanding sound-quality were the standout features of the ADAPTive system. LaBouff adds. “The rigging system designed by EAW is simple, straightforward, and easy to use. It makes flying the speakers very easy. Also, the audio quality of the Annas and Ottos is second to none. The resort is thrilled with the performance of the system.
“In fact, when we did the first demonstration of the system, the customer stayed for three hours, requesting track-after-track so that they could hear what their new system was capable of achieving.”
