Dynacord Launches New Power Amplifiers Dedicated To Live Applications & Fixed Installations

L Series and C Series power amplifiers, with four models per series in a new industrial design, available globally

At InfoComm 2017 in Orlando, Dynacord has launched two new dual-channel power amplifier series: the L Series and the C Series. Coinciding with the company’s 70th anniversary, the amplifiers are available globally.

Both series comprise a powerful linear amp design with feature sets that bring professional performance to a more accessible price point.

A powerful and easy-to-use software tool allows full configuration, control, and supervision of sound systems with multiple amplifiers. (The software will be available on Dynacord’s website.)

Sophisticated circuitry and high-performance voltage handling mean that the amplifiers and connected loudspeakers are protected from damage and will perform without a problem in even the most demanding environments. Four different models per series are available, with total output power ranging from 1,300 to 3,600 watts and engineered for stability at 2 ohms.

L Series models are designed to provide for demanding live music applications, for production companies and performing musicians providing sound reinforcement in venues like music clubs, community hall events, performance centers, and sports venues.

C Series models are designed for permanent installation applications, to provide background or live music in venue including bars, churches, restaurants, sports facilities, and performing arts centers. They’re also suitable for direct drive applications with 70/100-volt lines, providing flexibility for a variety of install scenarios.

In addition, the C Series offers Euroblock connectors for convenient wiring, remote power-on delay, and GPIOs (General-purpose input/output) to interface with third-party controls. The standby power mode reduces running costs and power consumption by up to 90 percent, leading to a very low total cost of ownership.

The onboard DSP (digital signal processing) includes multi-band PEQs (parametric equalizer), crossovers, limiters, and delay per channel. It also has true channel grouping control with extra DSP capabilities like PEQ, GEQ (graphic equalizer), and delay for each group.

“The advanced FIR-Drive (Finite Impluse Response), which utilizes finite impulse response filters, is a feature normally reserved for the highest quality tour-grade DSPs,” states Jonathan Bailey, global product manager, Pro Sound Electronics and Software. “L Series and C Series amplifiers utilize this premium feature to optimize original factory loudspeaker settings, yielding a level of performance unheard of at this price point.”

Both series consist of four dual-channel models, each with different output power specifications. Maximum output power per channel:

C3600FDi / L3600FD — 1800 W @ 4 Ω, 3200 W @ 2 Ω

C2800FDi / L2800FD — 1400 W @ 4 Ω, 2300 W @ 2 Ω

C1800FDi / L1800FD —900 W @ 4 Ω, 1600 W @ 2 Ω

C1300FDi / L1300FD — 650 W @ 4 Ω, 1100 W @ 2 Ω
