dbx Launches New Direct Boxes & Cable Test Accessories

New members of Di and CT line-ups both offer a range of functions offering flexibility

At NAMM 2016, dbx by Harman unveiled five new additions to the Di and CT line-up of products, including the new Di4, Di1 and DJdi direct injection boxes and CT3 and CT2 cable testing accessories.

The Di4 four-channel direct box converts unbalanced signals into balanced output, and also can function as a multi-channel stereo line mixer. This allows users to connect keyboards, samplers and modules into one unit and supply independent XLR balanced outputs to the front of house engineer, as well as set their own independent mix for stage monitoring.

The Di1 active direct injection box ensures that audio signal reaches its intended destination in both a balanced format and free from noise. It has a level and impedance matching function, signal pass-through, phantom power, and ground lift. Frequency response is stated as 10 Hz to 70 kHz, +0 dB/-3 dB frequency response.

The two-channel passive DJdi offers a continuously variable input signal attenuator that can accommodate a wide range of signal levels, and its passive design means clean and uncolored operation with no power required.

The CT3 cable testing unit allows users to evaluate a large variety of cables. It has a split design to test cables at the plug-in source, and accommodates many common connectors, such as RJ45, RJ11, MIDI, speaker twist, XLR, RCA phono, BNC, DIN, TRS, TS, DMX and banana.

The CT2 allows for testing cables with different connectors at each end. It too accommodates several connectors, such as speaker twist, XLR, phono, BNC, DIN, TRS, TS, DMX and banana. LED indicators and a rotary dial simplify use.
