DBS Audio Spurs Rental Growth With Meyer Sound LYON

To expand its touring rental business, DBS Audio Systems Inc. of Coatesville, PA. has invested in a Meyer Sound LYON linear sound reinforcement system in advance of a busy summer concert season.

The system comprises 16 LYON-M main and eight LYON-W wide-coverage line array loudspeakers, in addition to six 1100-LFC low-frequency control elements. A Galileo Callisto loudspeaker management system with Galileo Callisto 616 array processors provides system drive and alignment. In the next few months, the system is already slated to serve the 14,000-capacity Mann Center for the Performing Arts, summer home of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the host of a full schedule of pop, jazz, and rock concerts. When not in residence, the system will support a range of summer festivals and corporate events.

“I first heard a LYON demo in New York, and the sound quality at all levels is very impressive,” says Dave Brotman, DBS president. “Also, the LYON rigging system is just spectacular—it will significantly reduce the time and labor needed to fly the system, making it perfect for corporate events with tight scheduling.”

Located in suburban Philadelphia, DBS Audio Systems is a provider of production audio services for corporate and entertainment events, touring concert systems, and high-end audio installations for corporate offices, educational facilities, and houses of worship. Its Meyer Sound rental inventory includes MINA, M’elodie, and MILO line array loudspeakers, 700-HP, 600-HP, and 500-HP subwoofers, MJF-212A stage monitors, and more.
