dB Technologies Debuts New DVA Mini Line Array At Psychiatric Circus

Psychiatric Circus is a “Nouveau Cirque” contemporary show where international artists present horror inspired acrobatics produced by Family Bellucci-Medini.

Daniele Mingolla, owner of MD for Circus, was in charge of technical and audio setup: “I was looking for a good solution for this new production and I had the chance to listen to a dB Technologies DVA MINI system. I was impressed by its performance and I took the risk to propose a line array system to a circus company.” says Mingolla. “Traditional line arrays systems weigh too much for circus big tops. Moreover, flying elements might disturb the audience’ view of aerial numbers. DVA MINI is light, easy to set up and its simple design doesn’t affect the set design.”

The DVA MINI is composed of dual line array modules, each outfitted with two 6” mid-bass drivers and two 1” neodymium high-frequency compression drivers. One module includes the amplifier, providing 200-watts RMS to each module. The circus liked the fact that the pair of modules only weight 19 pounds, and include self-contained mounting hardware.

The system for the circus was comprised of three clusters each with three pairs of M2M+M2S flown on a circular bar, along with two flown DVX D12 HP high powered two-way cabinets and four SUB 18H 18” active subwoofers.

Producer Sandy Medini was fully satisfied by her new sound reinforcement system: “Our fans are not the traditional circus fans: they are young people who loves horror films, strong emotions and loud music. That’s why we needed a high-end audio system. We are planning an European Tour and thanks to DVA MINI transport and setups will be much easier.”
