D.A.S. Audio Unveils New Event Series Self-Powered Line Array

Aimed at small- to medium-sized sound reinforcement requirements, both portable and installed

D.A.S. Audio has announced the introduction of the new Event Series line array, aimed at small- to medium-sized sound reinforcement requirements, both portable and installed. The series includes three models—two line array cabinets and a companion bass system. It will be on display at the upcoming 2014 NAMM show in Anaheim at booth 7101 in the arena.

The Event 208A and Event 210A are 3-way powered line arrays in double 8-inch and double 10-inch configurations, respectively. The D.A.S. loudspeaker units have been teamed up with a single M-75 compression driver and purpose-designed injected aluminum high-frequency waveguide.

Both are powered by a 3-channel Class D amplifier that provides 360 watts (peak) per channel. The amp´s rear panel includes Neutrik XLR and powerCON connectors, status LEDs to facilitate setup, and D.A.S. Easy-DSP interface that simplifies preset selection for the number of units and throw depth.

The twin 18-inch companion subwoofer makes use of D.A.S. LX Series long-excursion loudspeakers for solid bass response. Designed for optimum coupling with the Event 208A and Event 210A tops, the front-loaded system is powered by an efficient 3600-watt (peak) Class D amplifier and achieves a rated maximum peak SPL of 140 dB.

The amplifier has a cardioid preset mode switch which offers specific signal treatment for easy set-up of pairs of systems in cardioid subwoofer applications.

And, the subwoofer also includes two balanced inputs (A-B) with stereo filtered output connections for satellite systems. The variable crossover ranges from 100 Hz-160 Hz, and can be defeated to offer stereo “loop thru” connections. A gain control and polarity reverse feature increase user control over the system.

All units have professional grade Baltic birch plywood construction and are finished with D.A.S. ISO-flex paint for durability. Steel rigging hardware is included on the line arrays systems and allows for safe and precise flying. A convenient pin storage recepticle keep pins from getting lost.

Amplifiers are protected from the elements by means of an effective protective cover. A range of useful accessories augment the possibilities of the systems allowing them to be used on stand mounts or safely stacked on subwoofers. Transport dollies and protective covers are available for all models.

Hear the new Event Series live during the 2014 NAMM show at the Venue Stage outside of the arena.
