Conway Recording Studios Honors Csaba Petocz

The three-time GRAMMY nominee with 37 number-one record credits and 32 platinum or multi-platinum albums passed away on July 17 after a long battle with cancer.

Conway Recording Studios owners Susan and Buddy Brundo, along with musician/composer/record producer Matthew Wilder, held a private, impromptu service honoring noted producer/engineer/mixer Csaba Petocz, who passed away on July 17 after a long battle with cancer.

The service was held in the tranquil garden area of Conway Recording Studios and was attended by a small group of industry notables, all of whom were close personal friends of Csaba and his wife Lisa Roy.

Csaba’s sister Susan and brother-in-law Darryl Simpson from Australia were in attendance, and everyone got a chance to visit and hear stories about Csaba and his love of music and the recording industry, and how he touched and affected the lives of everyone he came in contact with.

A three-time GRAMMY nominee with 37 number-one record credits and 32 platinum or multi-platinum albums, Csaba was one of the greats and worked closely with the top names in the industry, from Metallica to Alanis Morissette.

With a complete absence of self-pity, Csaba never let his illness affect anything he did, and he always was a motivating force to everyone around him, Everyone.

Our music community has lost a unique individual whose body of work will live on — and every time we hear a track Csaba worked on, or hear the word “Mate,” it will continue to bring a smile to our faces and warmth to our hearts.
