At the recent Beijing Autoshow in China, the Volkswagen Group presented product highlights from Volkswagen as well as Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley, and Ducati, with both music playback and speech supported by a sound reinforcement system headed by CODA Audio loudspeakers deployed by production provider Tongbo in a design by audio specialist Oliver Tschotow that comfortably met the brief for the project.
Tongbo was engaged by Creative Audio Visual Equipment Trading of Shanghai to supply the audio package that also celebrated the progress of Volkswagen Group’s “in China, for China” strategy at the city’s Phoenix Media Centre. Live-streamed around the world, the unveiling of the new models during the Volkswagen Group Media Night celebrated 40 years of presence in China in front of a large audience of executives, management representatives, and other business partners.
The main system comprised left, center, and right clusters of N-APS loudspeakers (12 in total) complemented by two HOPS8i loudspeakers as infills. A further 13 HOPS8i were ceiling-mounted as delays, with two more deployed as monitors alongside four HOPS12. Four HOPS5 delivered delay at the rear of the auditorium, and the loudspeakers were supported by 12 x SCP subwoofers and powered by CODA Audio DSP amplification using three LINUS T-Rack and and a single LINUS M-Rack.
A spokesperson for Creative Audio Visual Trading states, “We consider that the audio quality of the CODA loudspeakers is excellent, delivering clear sound at moderate volumes free from any noticeable noise or distortion. The high frequencies are bright without being harsh and the low end is full-bodied and powerful, providing a comfortable overall listening experience.”
