Clark Wire & Cable launched the new ModBox modular fiber rack system at the 2010 InfoComm show in Las Vegas.

Designed as a user configurable, field deployable solution for SMPTE 304M hybrid fiber connectors, ModBox modules have now been expanded to include Clark Focus Guide, Clark DataTac, T-FOCA, Triax and Neutrik OpticalCon connector formats.

Expansion units for the Clark ModBox system are available in two types, self-contained break-out modules or flat panel bulkhead mount connectors.

Break-out type modules feature discrete electrical and fiber connectors (ST, SC or LC) on the back-panel to facilitate local onsite termination, eliminating the need for specialized tooling and labor.

Flat Panel bulkhead expansion units are pre-punched connector mounts that allow cable-terminated, bulkhead style connectors to be mounted in the ModBox frame.

With the highest density available, up to eight different connector modules can be mixed and matched within a single 2RU ModBox frame.

For added security and strain-relief, the ModBox frame also features a full cable management system at the rear of the chassis for securing component and hybrid cables.

“The Clark ModBox system is the most flexible and versatile hybrid fiber distribution system available,” stated Scott Fehl, product marketing manager for Clark Wire & Cable. “Now with the addition of Focus Guide, DataTac, T-FOCA, Triax and OpticalCon modules, the ModBox system provides exceptional flexibility in custom configuring interface panels.

“To simplify installation and field servicing, ModBox modules can be easily interchanged, repaired and maintained.”
