Church Sound University (CSU) online training, which mirrors the popular in-person training program that focuses on the essentials of worship audio, has added a new in-depth streaming course led by instructor Samantha Potter, and it’s immediately available here.
Particularly in light of the ongoing difficulties of hosting in-person worship services and other gatherings, the new streaming course provides church AV teams with the knowledge they need to make decisions about streaming, technology and the gear needed to do the job right. Topics include:
Platforms | Facebook Live, YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Zoom & Church Website
Types | One-to-One, Multistream & Inter-streaming
Streaming Providers | OBS, VMix, Living As One (Resi), StreamMonkey, StreamYard, Restream.io
Equipment | Switcher, Codec & Computer
Video For Streaming | Video Formats, Camera Intro, Framing Basics, A Note On Lighting
Graphics | Getting graphics to the stream
Audio Essentials | Compression, Consistency, Room Compensation, Mouth Match & Sample Rates
Networking | Use Wired Internet
Recommendations | What Samantha uses and why.
Assessment quizzes are offered after each training segment so that students can review their progress, and if necessary, they can review the segment again to be sure of their understanding.
Instructor Samantha Potter is an active worship tech educator noted for a highly relevant and practical curriculum. She has also served as a sound design consultant and IT media supervisor for the houses of worship market, and currently works with console manufacturer Allen & Heath.
Cost for the course is $49, and it’s also available as part of the full Church Sound University Level 101 training program. Go here to find out more and acquire the new streaming, and here to find out more about the complete program.
