At the 2018 Prolight + Sound show, Crest Audio (hall 3.1, stand A21) has introduced the new Versarray PRO powered line array, equipped with integrated Dante networking, onboard DSP, and more.

Comprised of the VR112 line array element and the VR-PRO 215 subwoofer, Versarray PRO is a designed for mid-sized sound reinforcement applications.

The VR112 is loaded with the company’s Mark III ribbon drivers and proprietary CLEAR FORM waveguide for high-end reproduction. The low end is served by a 12-inch NEO Black Widow neodymium woofer with dual 4-inch voice coils that works in conjunction with Crest’s patented Ram Air Cooling (RAC) design, intended to increase efficiency and power handling.

The compact, flyable VR-PRO 215 sub, also with an RAC design, includes dual 15-inch Black Widow Low Rider woofers and is rated delivers down to 35 Hz and a peak SPL of 135 dB. Both the line array are driven with onboard amplification stated as capable of providing up to 3,000 watts.

Versarray PRO is a fully articulating array, with a 3-pin system on the back that enables a range of configurations. This is furthered by Auto-Hang DSP technology, a push-button control option that allows users to adjust the array according to the number of cabinets, loudspeaker positioning and more.

The onboard DSP processing includes FIR filtering. Certain parameters can be accessed from the back panel for initial set-up, or the whole system can be configured and controlled remotely via a dedicated Windows-based software utility. Dante network control and audio are delivered via a single Cat-5/6 cable, and redundant analog connections have also been included.
