Cerwin-Vega! has introduced the CVA-28, an active three-way loudspeaker system designed to be used stand alone or partnered with the company’s CVA-115, CVA-118 and CVA-121 active subwoofer. The new CVA-28 will be on display in the Cerwin-Vega booth (#6866) at the upcoming Winter NAMM show in Anaheim.
The CVA-28 incorporates dual 8-inch custom-designed Cerwin-Vega drivers that provide tight bass and defined mid-range, while the concentric compression driver configuration provides smooth high frequency performance with great detail and imaging.
A 400-watt RMS, 800-watt peak three-way integrated amplifier powers this design, producing low distortion and lots of volume. Similar to the CVA-115, CVA-118 and CVA-121, the CVA-28 utilizes an attractive and functional front grill that dissipates heat from the drivers so they run efficiently with optimum output and performance.
The CVA-28 can either be mounted or installed via integrated flypoints and pole mounts. A CVA mounting kit provides optimized arrayability configurations which include double and triple mounting options for Cerwin-Vega subwoofers.
The unique “antler” mounting system allows up to three CVA-28 speakers to be horizontally arrayed on top of the subwoofers, with optimum dispersion angles cast into the supports, ensuring perfect set-up and sensational sound for the audience. Shortened power and audio cables are utilized to create a clean and organized aesthetic.
“We used pro sound company experts to assist in the voicing of the CVA-28 and the entire CV Active line. Our team utilized multiple listening sessions that simulated real world environments from MP3 files and inexpensive mixers to high end consoles and jazz ensembles so our speakers would perform well in every possible application,” remarked Mike Newman, Cerwin Vega’s Director of Product Management.
