Celestion Introduces New CF1025BMB 10-Inch Cast Aluminum Driver

Design suited for both bass and mid-bass applications in multi-way loudspeakers and in particular to serve as a bass unit in compact subwoofers.

Celestion has announced the introduction of the CF1025BMB, a new 10-inch (254 mm) diameter ferrite magnet, cast aluminum chassis professional audio driver suited to both bass and mid-bass applications in multi-way loudspeakers, and in particular to serve as a bass unit in compact subwoofers.

The CF1025BMB has a 2.5-inch multi-layer voice coil stated to provide 300 watts (AES standard) power handling and 92.5 dB sensitivity with an output frequency range of 45 Hz to 5 kHz. The elastomer surround is designed to enable a longer Xmax that allows it to better reproduce lower frequencies. This makes the driver a natural solution for discreet, compact subwoofer applications.

The new driver also includes the company’s smart airflow vented magnet assembly that’s designed to provide dynamic heat dispersion to minimize power compression during operation as well as an optimised T-pole magnet assembly to help maximixe the stability of cone movement for enhanced Bl symmetry and thus produce lower distortion.

Developed at Celestion headquarters in Ipswich, England, the CF1025BMB was designed using specialist in-house software deploying FEA (Finite Element Analysis) modeling techniques, enabling the engineering team to achieve genuine increases in performance, greater product longevity, and low distortion.
