Cadac Ships Their First Compact Console, The LIVE1

The company's first ever development in the affordable console market ships in November.

Cadac has announced that the LIVE1, which was designed, developed, and manufactured in the UK, will ship in November.

The delivery of the first LIVE1 series consoles to dealers and distributors in the first week of next month, marks the UK’s leading heritage mixing console manufacturer’s move beyond its traditional high-end musical theatre and live sound production markets.

LIVE1 is a full Cadac console that incorporates the company’s analogue engineering heritage within a lightweight, compact, affordable design.

Available in 16, 24 and 32 channel frame sizes, the LIVE1 exploits modern design and manufacturing techniques to deliver not only a compact console capable of superb quality and performance, but also a price point that makes a Cadac console available for the first time to wider markets and applications.

Designed by the company’s analogue console team at Cadac’s UK headquarters, LIVE1 brings Cadac standards of performance and functionality to small clubs and theatres, local hire companies, small to medium size touring productions, event productions, A/V presentations, and houses of worship.

Offering such high levels of both sound quality and functionality, the LIVE1 series is ideal for front of house, monitor and sub-mixing.

The console’s operational flexibility means that it can fulfil a wide range of recording applications; its sonic performance makes the LIVE1 the ideal analogue front end for DAWs.

A new microphone preamplifier design, employing the latest engineering and component technologies, puts the audio performance of the LIVE1 on a par with that of legendary full-scale Cadac consoles.

The Cadac 4-band EQ, with two swept mid sections, delivers the responsive and musical articulation that characterises the Cadac sound. Input channels also feature individual phantom power, PFL and Mute (AFL mode set from master section), 100mm faders with signal-present and overload indicators, six Auxiliaries (switchable pre/post in pairs), 60mm Aux Master faders, and four subgroups.

All frame sizes feature four stereo inputs as standard and six returns (four with sends to aux 5/6), as well as two returns on 100mm faders; with sends to subgroups and aux 5/6. The Master Output section features dual outputs and talkback section.

Commenting on the arrival to market of the LIVE1, Cadac Director of Sales Bob Thomas said, “Cadac has always been a premium performance product, designed for applications and customers for whom sound quality, performance and reliability came before budget.”

“With LIVE1 we have achieved the truly remarkable, a Cadac desk for the wider professional market. Not only that, we have done it here in the UK – design, development and manufacturing.”

Patrick Almond, Marketing Manager Soundking Group Europe, added “LIVE1 gives Cadac a unique product with which to enter the compact console market.”

“One that not only comes with all of the heritage and reputation of the Cadac brand but also, thanks to the way we have exploited the most up-to-date design and manufacturing techniques, one that delivers the Cadac sound performance.”

“We have come to this market with a Cadac, and there is no equivalent to a Cadac.”
