Beyma Introduces 12M500 Ferrite Cone Woofer

Designed for 2- and 3-way loudspeakers, including line array modules

At the ProLight+Sound 2013 show, Beyma introduced the 12MC500, a 12-inch cone woofer for 2- and 3-way loudspeakers, including line array modules.

The new 12MC500 offers a 2.5-inch voice coil and a ferrite magnet, and assisted by Maltcross technology, Beyma’s new patent-pending cooling system, it handles up to 1,000 watts of program power and significantly reduces loss due to power compression effect.

The primary application target of the 12MC500 is low and mid/low frequency program, and so it is designed for large displacements, and is also very sensitive and linear in a wide band. The cone is weatherproofed on both sides for exceptional durability.

Sensitivity is specified as 97.8 dB, while frequency response is 50 Hz to 5,500 Hz. Extended controlled displacement (Xmax) is 8 mm, while mechanical displacement capability (Xdamage) is ± 40 mm.

Due to the ferrite magnet, weight of the 12MC500 is just 12.7 pounds (5.8 kg).
