Behringer has introduced its most powerful iNUKE Series power amplifiers, the iNUKE12000 and iNUKE12000DSP, which deliver 12,000 total watts—6,000 watts per channel at 2 Ohms, or 3,000 watts at 4 Ohms.
The new amplifiers weigh less than 18 pounds and occupy only 2RU.
iNUKE amplifiers implement High-Density Class-D technology combined with efficient switch-mode power supplies.
Front panel controls and indicators include positive-detent gain controls with signal LEDs that light when a signal is present, as well as clip LEDs to indicate when the signal is distorted. “Zero-Attack” limiters offer maximum output level with reliable overload protection.
There is also a built-in subwoofer/satellite crossover for added flexibility. Input connectors are XLR and 1/4-inch TRS combination jacks. Professional twist lock speaker connectors are found on the back panel.
iNUKE DSP Series amplifiers come with built-in DSP and 24 bit/96 kHz converters. The DSP functions include a sophisticated delay, crossover, EQ (8 parametric, 2 dynamic), and dynamics processing with lockable security settings. All iNUKE DSP models can be set up, controlled and monitored via the front-panel USB connector.
“iNUKE power amps have been wildly successful because they’re dependable, put out massive amounts of power, yet weigh so very little thanks to our revolutionary high-density Class-D technology” says Costa Lakoumentas, senior VP of marketing at the MUSIC Group. “But we think we may have outdone ourselves with the new iNUKE NU12000, which packs a whopping 12,000-watt total output.”
