Bartlett Microphones Announces The Drum Mic

New drum microphone designed to pick up entire drum kit with one microphone.

Bartlett Microphones has announced the introduction of the Bartlett Drum Mic.

The Bartlett Drum Mic is a professional quality, miniature condenser mic for recording and sound reinforcement of a drum kit.

Because it is omnidirectional at all frequencies, the microphone is designed to capture a small drum kit with one mic.

The included mic clip can be used to position the Drum Mic in the center of the kit at the height of the snare-drum rim, over the drummer’s knee.

The Drum Mic picks up the snare, toms and cymbals all around it. Users can adjust the balance among drum elements by mic positioning and EQ. Bartlett recommends using a separate kick-drum mic of the user’s choice to capture aditional bass.

Featuring a flat frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz, the Drum Mic is said to provide a full, bright sound. It handles very loud sounds (130 dB SPL) without distorting.

Compared to an overhead mic, the Drum Mic is intended to provide less clutter on stage, a better balance between snare/toms/cymbals, and a tighter sound.

Compared to multiple mics, the Drum Mic offers much simpler setup, lower cost and less clutter, and it requires only one mixer channel.

Its high sensitivity and low-impedance balanced output provide a strong, hum-free signal.

The mic comes with a permanently attached 6-foot cable with XLR connector and requires 12-48V phantom power which most mixers provide.

Made in the USA, the Bartlett Drum Mic has a 2-year warranty and money-back guarantee.
