AVS Production Group Provides System Featuring Harman Components For Terminal 5 In NYC

System was designed and configured using Harman HiQnet System Architect

For the past two years, AVS Production Group (formerly known as Abe V Systems) has deployed JBL Professional VERTEC line arrays powered by Crown Audio I-Tech power amplifiers at New York City’s dynamic Terminal 5 live music venue.

At Terminal 5, two arrays of 10 VERTEC VT4888 elements, flown and flanking the stage, are driven with 24 I-Tech 8000 amplifiers, augmented by self-powered JBL VRX Series loudspeakers arranged in delay clusters throughout the venue. The system was designed and configured using Harman HiQnet System Architect.

According to Abe Viera Jr, HiQnet System Architect provides his team integrators with a highly functional, intuitive user interface that help them to standardize operations and apply best practices.

“System Architect enables me to train my team on one platform and for each member of the team to gain expertise in one interface,” said Viera. “This translates to better system design and operation but also the labor and money savings as we become more efficient.”

Viera also points to equipment savings enabled by HiQnet. “Having the DSP functionality in the amp with the programability of System Architect is like having enables us to have a much stronger product,” he stated. “By the time you’re at the console the way we can deliver a system is just far beyond what we could do in the past. We have been using the system for a year now and we won’t do anything without System Architect.”

Terminal 5 is part of the successful Bowery Presents Production Company and family of venues that also includes the Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, Welmont Theater and Music Hall At Williamsburg.
