Avid Announces Dugan-VN16 Webinar

Join Avid Senior Market Specialist and FOH mixer Robert Scovill and Automixing Pioneer Dan Dugan to See the Dugan-VN16 in Action

Avid has announced that senior market specialist and FOH mixer Robert Scovill along with automixing Pioneer Dan Dugan to present an exclusive live sound webinar to show the new Dugan-VN16 in action.

The webinar will demonstrate how the new Dugan-VN16 card brings legendary automixing capabilities to selected Avid live sound systems and enables users to achieve higher-quality live dialog mixes.

Designer Dan Dugan and Avid live sound engineer Robert Scovill will explain how the Dugan-VN16 option card easily installs into any SC48 console (including SC48 Remote), FOH Rack, or Mix Rack for a highly integrated solution. The card automatically detects active mics and adjusts volumes accordingly, minimizing feedback, comb filtering, and background noise.

Dan Dugan is widely considered the “father of automixing,” a technology that enables sound engineers to manage multiple live mics without continually riding individual faders. Dugan has been involved in the professional audio industry for more than four decades and his patented automixers have been used in thousands of churches, courtrooms, and on television shows, including “The David Letterman Show,” “The Oprah Show” and “Washington Week.”

Robert Scovill is a veteran sound engineer with more than 3,000 live show mixing credits, including tours with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Rush, Prince, and Def Leppard.

The webinar is schedule for Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. EST.
