AVDG (Audio Visual Design Group) has announced the appointment of industry veteran Jay Jones, CTS, to the position of national procurement manager, where he is charged with overseeing procurement needs across the U.S., including the hiring, training and mentoring of purchasing department personnel.

Jones, who is reporting directly to Doug Carnell, VP of Business Solutions at Guitar Center, AVDG’s parent company, enters the new role with experience spanning more than 26 years in systems integration and technology design, where he has led teams of varying sizes in the audiovisual industry. Prior to joining AVDG, Jones was director of global procurement at Electrosonic, where he established procurement standards and oversaw the management of an international purchasing team based in London and Los Angeles. He also founded audiovisual integrator AVMAN in 2001 and served as the CEO until its acquisition in 2019.

Jones will also help implement plans to maximize revenue and drive profitability for AVDG, including developing and executing a Preferred Vendor Partner Program. In addition to leading the purchasing team members, Jones will work closely with project managers, sales professionals, designers, installers and support personnel on the implementation of procurement strategies throughout the organization.

“We’re excited to have industry veteran Jay Jones join our growing enterprise,” says Carnell. “He will continue the very strong relationships we have with our vendors, while providing enhanced support to our sales teams, project engineers, project managers and other AVDG associates.”

Jones adds, “With the investments AVDG has made in both our infrastructure and our people, I am delighted to join this illustrious company and its talented team. I look forward to working with the company’s various departments to expand the company’s procurement strategies.”
