AudioControl Debuting CM Series 70-Volt Amplifiers With Dante Networking At ISE 2020

Addition of Dante to existing DSP and matrixing capabilities designed to make multi-zone audio easier and more efficient to install.

At the ISE 2020 show this week in Amsterdam, AudioControl (booth 5-R96) has announced the introduction of three CM Series 70-volt amplifiers equipped with Dante digital audio networking capability that moves data over a standard IP network using Cat-5e, Cat-6 and fiber optic cable.

The new Dante-enabled CM Series amps are designed to allow any source can be accessed from anywhere on the network, and up to eight streams of digital content can be routed to any Dante-enabled device. Further, because the Dante technology utilizes a master clock, all connected devices remain in tight synchronization.

The amplifiers with Dante are available in three versions — 4-channel, 3-channel and 2-channel models. Each is stated to deliver 750 watts per channel in 70/100-volt mode, 500 watts per channel at 8 ohms (stereo or mono output), 750 watts per channel at 2 or 4 ohms, and 1,500 watts bridged into either a 70/100-volt and 8- or 4- ohm load.

Each amplifier offers eight analog inputs (four stereo) – plus four digital stereo inputs – digital coax and optical. The four outputs can be individually controlled or be controlled as two stereo pairs.

CM Series amplifiers also offer the DSP control and signal matrixing capabilities developed by AudioControl for its Director Series amplifiers. This is useful in further tailoring sound by zone to the specific application and environment.

DSP capabilities include onboard loudspeaker profiles developed by engineers from architectural and commercial loudspeaker manufacturers such as Dynaudio, Graysound, James Loudspeaker, Monitor Audio, Nuvo, Origin Acoustics, Stealth Acoustics and Triad Speakers, all members of AudioControl’s Sound Partner Program. The amplifiers also offer advanced graphic and parametric equalization along with onboard crossovers.

System setup and diagnostics can be managed remotely via an IP web-based browser or app for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android, facilitating control of CM Series amplifiers via IP and/or RS232.

AudioControl Dante-enabled CM Series amplifiers will become available in Quarter 2 of 2020.
