Audio-Technica is pleased to announce that their microphones were employed to capture the audio of the royal wedding.
On April 29, 2011, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, married Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey.
William, who is second in the line of succession to Queen Elizabeth II, first met Middleton in 2001, while both were students at the University of St. Andrews.
The wedding attracted media attention from all corners of the globe, with the service broadcast live around the world.
Recently, 32 Audio-Technica microphones (a combination of ES935ML6 MicroLine Condenser Gooseneck Microphones and U851R Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphones) were installed in Westminster Abbey for capturing the audio of the royal wedding.
The microphones were located in key areas of the Abbey; a computer touchscreen showed the operator their exact positions within the building.
The ES935ML6 microphones were switched on and off locally by the user or controlled remotely by a verger using any of the touchscreens.
Additionally, several Audio-Technica U851R Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphones were used on the altars.
