Audio-Technica Debuts AT2020USB-X Cardioid Condenser Microphone

Designed to provide the sound of the original AT2020 upgraded to a 24-bit/96 kHz sampling rate combined with plug-and-play USB-C operation.

Audio-Technica has announced the debut of the AT2020USB-X, a new cardioid condenser USB microphone that’s designed to provide the sound of the original AT2020 upgraded to a 24-bit/96 kHz sampling rate combined with plug-and-play USB-C operation.

Improvements to the AT2020USB-X include a soft-touch capacitive mute button on the body to silently mute audio at the microphone, a high-resolution A/D converter with 24-bit/96 kHz sampling rate for more clear and natural sound production, two-state LED indicator ring lights for when the mic is powered on or muted, and an improved custom desk stand for a more stable and secure base.

The AT2020USB-X also includes a built-in headphone jack (and a high-output internal headphone amplifier) with volume and mix control to let users directly monitor with no delay as well as blend the microphone signal with computer audio. It’s equipped with a USB-C output and a cable with USB-C and USB-A options.

Accessories include a 3/8″-16 to 5/8″-27 threaded adapter, desk stand, and 2-meter (6.6-foot) USB-C to USB-A cable with a USB-A to USB-C adapter. Available separately are the AT8455 shock mount designed to effectively absorb vibration noise. It’s compatible with 3/8″-16 and 5/8″-27 threaded stands.

The AT2020USB-X is available with a U.S. MSRP of $149.
