Audio Precision To Showcase Audio Test Applications At ProLight + Sound

Audio Precision announces its planned application demonstrations for ProLight + Sound from April 5-8 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Attendees seeking to understand and solve measurement challenges should visit AP in Hall 4.1, Stand A20 for hands-on demonstrations of audio and electro-acoustic testing, and the accompanying expertise of AP’s technical staff.

Enhanced Electro-Acoustic and Production Testing
Audio and electro-acoustic test within a manufacturing environment can present unique challenges for the test engineer. Audio Precision’s latest software release, v4.2, adds a dedicated production test mode that enables a test system administrator to create device-specific projects—for example, loudspeakers, headphones and microphones—then put the system into password-protected production mode.

From that point on, system operators have a simplified interface that allows for project selection, test activation and report generation, but does not permit project modification or parameter changes. The new release also supports the creation of customizable sub-sequences for applications such as “golden unit” testing or microphone calibration.

Testing Dante-Enabled Systems
In addition to multichannel, Ethernet-based audio transport, many Dante-enabled devices also contain conventional analog and/or digital audio interfaces—as well as ADCs, DACs, or powered loudspeakers—all of which need to be tested through their Dante interface. AP’s Dante testing station will enable visitors to experience 8- or 16-channel testing of a Dante-enabled device via the ASIO client interface of an APx58x Series multi-channel analyzer.

Measuring High-Performance Amplifiers, ADCs and DACs
AP’s flagship analyzer, the APx555, offers audio developers insight into the behavior of their designs, unimpaired by noise or artifacts from the test system. Event attendees can witness first-hand the APx555’s performance—including typical residual THD+N of -120 dB—as it tests high-performance, commercially available amplifiers, ADCs and DACs.

“From technology designers pushing the boundaries of performance to the growing audio test needs of equipment manufacturers,” said Spyros Lazaris, Audio Precision vice president, Sales & Marketing, “international events such as ProLight + Sound play an integral part in AP engaging and helping engineers around the globe to overcome their measurement challenges.”
