Audinate has announced the introduction of the new Dante Brooklyn 3 audio networking module and Dante Fremont 3 AV networking module, both pin-compatible replacements for the Brooklyn 2 and Fremont modules that have been re-designed to help ensure continuous availability while delivering support for current and future Dante features. Samples of both modules will be available to manufacturers in Q3 2022 and will start shipping in production quantities in Q4 2022.
The Brooklyn module family is the most widely deployed implementation of Dante, and is used in hundreds of mixing consoles, DSPs, amplifiers, andmore. The modules are available in 8×8 to 64×64 channel SKUs, stated to deliver low latency networked audio in a small footprint and supporting the suite of Dante audio features.
The original Fremont module supported Dante AV, and the new Fremont 3 is completely compatible with Fremont designs and supports low-latency Dante AV over IP along with 8×8 channels of audio for use in encoders, decoders, PTZ cameras, AV-over-IP monitors, format converters and matrix products.
“These new Dante modules help to alleviate supply constraints,” says Chris Ware, Audinate senior vice president of product development. “We re-engineered our most popular products to ensure steady availability in the foreseeable future, while improving the designs in anticipation of upcoming Dante features. Dante Brooklyn 3 and Dante Fremont 3 modules are direct replacements for earlier versions, so manufacturers can put them into immediate production.”
