Audinate Announces First Partnership With South American Manufacturer

Solidyne will incorporate Audinate's Dante technology in future products.

Solidyne S.R.L., the world’s oldest manufacturer of broadcasting consoles and the first company to create a PC based digital audio system for radio station automation, has announced plans to incorporate Audinate’s Dante digital media technology into its new 2600 line of digital consoles.

In 1995 Solidyne introduced Audicom 5, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) software application for radio station automation.

Solidyne was awarded the First National Prize for Technological Innovation in Argentina for this invention. Today this technology is used in radio stations in more than 120 countries.

Audicom 8 is still the only AI software in the market.

Solidyne is planning to introduce a new line of fully modular 2600 consoles in 2011. This console line will provide a low cost analog audio console with excellent audio quality as an entry point.

By adding new modules, it can be converted into a full digital AoIP (Audio over IP) console that will be able to interconnect with other equipment using a standard Ethernet network.

“By leveraging digital Audio over IP (AoIP) the new line of consoles will be able to connect with other audio products using standard Ethernet” says Solidyne’s CEO Oscar Bonella .

“This will give radio stations the unprecedented flexibility and full digital audio quality they have been asking for at competitive prices.”

Bonella also remarks, “The core of the AoIP 2600 routing will be Audinate’s Dante technology, which Solidyne engineers unanimously selected for this project.”

Audinate delivers a no-hassle, self configuring, true plug-and-play digital audio network that uses standard internet protocols.

Audinate’s Dante system offers a market leading solution today, while future-proofing implementations by providing a migration path to upgrade to new standards such as the IEEE Audio Video Bridging (“AVB”).

John McMahon, Audinates’s VP of Sales and Support says, “South America is emerging as one of the fastest growing AV market sectors.”

“We are very excited to have Solidyne become part of the Audinate family of OEM partners. Their expertise in radio and broadcast opens up new opportunities for Dante in South America and the rest of the world.”
