ARX Systems has announced the global launch of the USB DI-Q, a new USB — analog audio interface developed by the company in response to a specific request from the Australian Court System seeking a solution for interfacing and monitoring the playback of audio evidence files in courtroom and similar environments.
The USB DI-Q allows the user to monitor and cue audio files in a closed headphone environment and switch/enable the audio output to a sound system as required. It’s designed to be integrated into existing AV infrastructures, and once in place, requires touch button operation via a simplified user interface.
The USB DI-Q is designed for interfacing any USB-equipped computer with the balanced inputs of professional sound systems. It installs as a compatible “plug-and-play” generic USB audio device, requiring no special driver program installation on Mac OSX and Windows XP, 7/8/10. The unit ships with a USB-A to USB-B cable.
The front panel offers an overall playback volume control for both headphone and XLR outputs and an “enable audio to court” switch and indicator LED. The rear panel has a Type B USB input socket and LED status. Also onboard is a summed (mono) output XLR with groundlift switch and a 1/4-inch (6.5 mm) headphone output socket.
