API Audio has announced the release of the 527A 500 Series compressor/limiter, an updated version of the original 527 that debuted 12 years ago.
The 527A offers the same circuit structure and performance characteristics as the original but with an expanded feature set that includes improved LED monitoring of gain reduction, a hard bypass option and more. Go here for the full list of features and specifications.
“The improvements were largely made to bring the 527A into conformity with the newer 529 and also the 2500+,” says API Director of Engineering Todd Humora. “This makes the feature set more consistent across our entire line of VCA compressors.”
