Aphex Now Shipping New IN2 Desktop Audio Interface

Includes two mic preamps, 24-bit/192 kHz operation

Aphex is now shipping the new IN2, a computer audio interface for project studios, musicians, production rooms, and more.

Based on numerous requests from audio industry veterans, the IN2 was conceived with the project studio in mind. It incorporates a pair of Class A mic preamps that provide clean gain for any type of microphone, while the built-in analog, optical compressors keep dynamic range in check.

The IN2’s headphone amp, based on the Aphex Headpod 4, is both loud and clear. In addition to advanced circuitry, IN2 uses a 12-volt external power supply, enough power to meet the needs of any application

“The IN2’s audio performance goes beyond the typical desktop audio interface,” says Aphex chairman David Wiener. “The goal in creating the IN2 was to raise the bar for analog audio quality that gets connected to a DAW, while at the same time including features like analog compression for a more complete workflow.”

The IN2 also includes two front panel instrument inputs – as well as digital S/PDIF input and output, MIDI I/O, and balanced stereo 1/4-inch TRS outputs. And, the unit includes dedicated buttons for 48-volt phantom power, high-pass filter, -20 dB pad and compressor on/off on each channel.
