Ansmann has released its high-energy XPower brand of premium alkaline batteries to the North American pro audio market.
“Over the past 15 years, Ansmann has been a leading supplier of high-capacity and extended recycle rechargeable batteries to the pro audio wireless industry,” explains David Schliep, national sales manager of Ansmann USA. “Now we’re sharing our expertise in alkaline technology to the pro audio market at very competitive pricing.

The X-Power brand is supplied in bulk, with volume discounts available to production companies, system integrators, and other high-volume users of AA, AAA and 9-volt cells. Initial price points for AA start at $0.20 per cell and $0.79 for 9-volt cells. They’re packed in 10, 20 and 40-count bricks, depending on cell size and user requirements.
“Initial response to our alkaline release has been brisk,” notes Schliep, “as Ansmann is already recognized as the leader in rechargeable battery technology and the pricing is extremely attractive.”
He adds that the company is happy to provide alkaline alternatives to rechargeable batteries where it’s necessary or for sound techs not ready to switch to rechargeables, and that Ansmann is still committed to providing rechargeable solutions.
