AES Nashville Section executive committee member Jill Courtney and chair Michael Hanson are offering a self-published PDF document titled “Redesigning Audio Learning Spaces Quickly for Online Teaching,” providing possible paths forward as the global pandemic has educators seeking ways of applying available technology to online instruction.
In the report, Hanson and Courtney outline their goals and experimentation and share the details of what they are implementing. “This solution can help a lot of people migrate numerous audio classes to an online format with quality audio held sacred to its core mission,” Courtney concludes in the document.
Hanson is a veteran audio engineer and assistant professor of audio production at Middle Tennessee State University, while Courtney is a doctoral student in Instructional Design Leadership at Franklin University and is a former college audio instructor and teacher in performance arts.
