Adamson Speakers Make A Difference On The Island Of Crete

The Mylos club, located in Plantanis on the western most side of the Island of Crete in the region of Chania (Hania) attracts thousands of visitors a year who like local dives venture to the Mylos Club to hear the latest and greatest of internationally acclaimed DJs.

In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find one who hasn’t spun their flavor one time or another at this famous club. Outside banners and posters advertise ‘ A New Sound Experience.’

Sometime in the past three years, brothers George and Stelios Varouxakis, the owners of a historic locale, operated as the Mylos club since 1993 began looking for a new system.

They were very familiar with Adamson, as well as almost all recommended and available systems on the market.

As the search continued, they concluded that Adamson was the only logical choice after careful analysis.

To support Mylos, their installer DNA delivered two things: “First we offered a price comparison to show that Adamson fell within the client’s budget with the fine tuning of product specifications and room designs.”

“In our case we had a positive surprise: Take the SX18’s for example, Adamson had unbeknownst to us, made some cosmetic updates and technical modifications to the components and enclosure we were not aware of.”

“Secondly when we informed them of the proposed installation, Adamson offered to fly in to install and optimize the upgraded system!” said Alexios Ganas, the club’s technical consultant.

“It is quite remarkable that a club has operated under the same name, ownership and philosophy for a 18 solid years” said Ganas. “The previous system installed was an equally old used ElectroVoice MT-2 which partially replaced a system which caught fire in 2001, I have serviced and fine tuned it for the past 10 years.”

The final choice was an Adamson system which features eight SX18 (4 clusters of 2 enclosures) as the main system and Adamson T21 Subs for low end.

Additionally, 4 Point 8’s are used as under balcony fills, and monitoring in the DJ booth is accomplished through an Adamson MH-121.5’s.

Amplification is provided for all speakers by Lab.Gruppen. the board. Specifically, four PLM 10000Q’s which are four-channel (4 x 2300W with an integrated DSP/controller).
