64 Audio Launches U6t Universal In-Ear Monitor

Equipped with six precision-balanced armature drivers; incorporates the properties of the company's A6t custom IEM.

64 Audio has announced the launch of the U6t a new universal in-ear monitor with six precision-balanced armature drivers that incorporates the properties of the company’s A6t custom IEM, available with a U.S. MSRP of $1,299.

“This is a significant launch for us,” says Vitaliy Belonozhko, 64 Audio founder and chief sound designer. “The U6t represents the culmination of some very hard work by our R&D and engineering teams to bring the A6t’s technology into a universal option that can be utilized by a broad spectrum of musicians and engineers. The U6t is a great way for bands to have backups of the exact ears they use on stage without having to have additional custom A6t IEMs on hand.”

The U6t is stated to be slightly set apart from 64 Audio’s other UIEM models by offering a softer presentation of a mix. “This is our lowest priced universal IEM, so it is also a great way for professionals to get into our products,” Belonozhko continues. “As the A6t is the in-ear monitor of choice for many discerning musicians and engineers, the technology shared with the U6t offers detailed highs, smooth mids, defined lower-mids, deep lows, and terrific headroom.”

U6t overview/specs:

• Six precision balanced armature drivers
• Driver configuration: 1 tia high, 1 high-mid, 2 mid, 2 low
• Frequency response: 10Hz – 20kHz
• Sensitivity: 108 dB/mW @ 1mW (84mV)
• Impedance: 10 ohms @ 1 kHz
• Crossover: Integrated 4-way passive
• Isolation: -20 dB w/m20 module
• Universal shell milled out of an aerospace grade aluminum billet

The U6t incorporates tia, a technology exclusive to 64 Audio that eliminates tubes and dampers that can alter sound. It also utilizes LID (Linear Impedance Design) and patented apex (Air Pressure Exchange) technologies.
