A recent sound system upgrade at the 300-seat worship sanctuary at Cross Point Church in Farmingham, NJ, where services include performances by a live band of up to 10 members as well as spoken word, is headed by 1 SOUND Tower Series loudspeakers joined by SUB310 subwoofers.
The new system, installed by New Jersey-based L&M Sound and Light, incorporates a single SUB310 atop three Tower model LCC44 loudspeakers flown centrally above the wide front platform. The rigging points on the enclosures insured that the full-range loudspeakers could be angled downward to optimize coverage on the audience.
Meanwhile, coverage to front seating areas close is delivered by a set of a SUB310 sub topped by a Tower model LCC84 loudspeaker on each side of the platform. Via the rigging system on the cabinets, again the full-range LCC84’s are angled downward to focus coverage firmly on the audience.
Cross Point Church also livestreams its services, with the cardioid quality of the Tower loudspeakers providing about 20 dB of cancellation when past their field of directivity, helping to keep sound better controlled onstage and thus out of open microphones.
