Gekkō, a new upscale indoor-outdoor dining location in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami opened by restauranteur David Grutman (Groot Hospitality) and rapper Bad Bunny, has been outfitted with a range of 1 SOUND loudspeakers by Mount Vernon, NY-based production company Anthem Productions.
The 185-capacity venue, designed by Rockwell Group, is enhanced by jewel-toned decor, custom gold and red dip-dyed rope installation, graphic wall coverings, and velvet drapery and backlit cutouts and bars to enhance a nighttime atmosphere. This directly correlated to Groot Hospitality choosing

“I want people to feel wowed by Gekkō,” says Grutman. “I want them to be blown away. Not just by the menu (which I love, by the way), not just by the lounge, not just by the room, but by the entire experience taken as one. We wanted to spark that feeling of energy you get before and during a night out.”
Anthem deployed a distributed approach using Cannon C6i coaxial loudspeakers throughout the restaurant, joined by concealed SUB310 compact subwoofers. In addition, recently introduced Contour CT28 horn-loaded three-way loudspeakers are suspended, utilizing their companion rigging hardware, from a wall where there are vaulted matte-black cathedral ceilings. The loudspeakers are driven by a combination of Ram Audio Ram Audio Pi4-6k and Linea Research 44C1 amplifiers.
“Think of your go-to steakhouse. It’s familiar and personal,” Grutman concludes. “Then, imagine that with Japanese cuisine, too, and a Miami spin. Color, texture, great music. That’s what we’re aiming for with Gekkō.”
