The Ned NoMad Hotel in New York City, part of the Soho House Group, recently opened in collaboration with club entrepreneur Richie Akiva, and it includes a performance space called The Atrium that incorporates a range of 1 SOUND loudspeakers.
The space has a glass roof for an open feeling and marble flooring, and at night, it transforms into a lounge with nightly live performances on stage. New York-based system designer/installer Spectra Audio Design Group, which has previously worked with the Soho House Group, deployed two 1 SOUND Tower LCC84 loudspeakers as mains, mounted via their respective wall brackets.
Tower loudspekaers are designed to help reduce reflections in the room offering dispersion of 120 degrees wide and 5 degrees off the top and bottom of the column with stated rear-cancellation of
about 20 dB. Six reflex design SUB12 subwoofers, distributed through the space, provide low-frequency support.
“We’ve had weekly programming from live jazz bands to top New York DJs as well as pop-ups by Miguel, Badius, and Robin Thicke. There are major acts in the works for future performances and we will continue to surprise guests with exciting musical programming, ” says Akiva.
In addition, six Cannon C6 coaxial loudspeakers serve as stage monitors in a low-profile design that’s capable of generating the necessary SPL when a full band or a nightclub act is performing.
