SOUNDELUX E47 RECREATES THE SOUGHT-AFTER
VOCAL SOUND OF THE VINTAGE TUBE 47
PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA:
Soundelux Microphones unveils the latest in their growing line of true-to-life
vintage microphone recreations: the E47. Modeled after the legendary Tube
47 of the 1950s, the Soundelux E47 preserves its unique sonic character
so sought after by engineers, collectors and demanding studios. The benefits
of the Soundelux E47 include a price less than half of the average used
"vintage" price, a lower noise floor, better top end, improved
reliability, lower maintenance and a three-year warranty.
The 1950's era Tube 47 remains an essential studio microphone, known for
its big vocal sound and excellent, smooth response. As a sought after
vintage microphone, most of the Tube 47s found on the resale market today
are typically compromised: collectors and rental houses snatched the good
ones up long ago. The Soundelux E47 recreates the extraordinary sound
of the best original Tube 47 versions while maintaining the features and
the mechanical and electrical topology of the original. The E47 is a variable
pattern microphone to be prized for vocal and instrument applications.
"With studios and artists demanding vintage microphones, buyers are
often stymied as to why they cost so much to own and maintain. We are
attempting to build the first "family" of vintage tone microphones
that work as a team and are affordable as a group" noted David Bock,
senior vice president, Soundelux. "We're responding to a big vacuum
in the market, where vintage mics keep increasing in value, yet their
reliability in a real studio setting is decreasing. Someone needed to
restore these older proven sounds to the studios of today, maybe improve
the noise and top end a little, while making them affordable and reliable."
After years of listening and researching modern alternative materials,
Soundelux believes they've homed in on the right combination of electronics
and acoustics to capture the essence of all-time top studio mics.
Brad Lunde of Transamerica Audio Group (TAG), Soundelux's US distributor
commented, "David Bock has already hit a home run with the most difficult
vintage mic of all, the ELUX 251. Virtually all reviews are resoundingly
positive. The next step is build a complete "vintage family"
with the one of the most important recording mics of all time, the Soundelux
E47 tube."
"Our dream is to create a complete set of re-issue mics," continued
Bock, "that cover all the most important bases in microphone history."
Soundelux is poised to become the vintage mic source for studio owners
who want the complete array of 'proven mic sounds' (251, 47, 67, etc.)
but cannot reasonably base an hourly billable business around the performance
of 30 to 50 year old microphones."
Stop by the Transamerica Audio Booth #547 at AES 2001 for an ear-defying
demonstration of the E47.
