The Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City’s premier venue for large events and entertainment, is primarily known as the home of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. Designed by Marsh/PMK’s Jerrold Stevens and installed by Ford AV, the advanced technology audio solution gives the Oklahoma City… View this post

With 138 shows scheduled over a 15-month run across five continents, Justin Bieber’s marathon “Purpose World Tour” is on track to rank among the five top grossing tours of 2016. The tour’s success relies heavily on an intimate connection between artist and audience, a feat accomplished physically with aggressive out-in-the-house staging and sonically supported by a Meyer Sound LEO Family reinforcement system from VER Tour Sound. Selection of the LEO Family system was a collaborative decision on the part of… View this post

The Florida State Seminoles play all of their home games at Doak Campbell Stadium, which has grown from 15,000 seats in 1953 to nearly 80,000 seats today. The name of the field itself honors head coach Bobby Bowden, who led the Seminoles to over a dozen championship wins between 1976 and his retirement in 2009. Against that storied backdrop, Florida State University has upgraded the stadium’s sound reinforcement system with Danley Sound Labs’ J-5 Caleb loudspeakers, along with additional Jericho… View this post

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (HSB) is not your average festival. In fact, there is nothing “hardly” or “strictly” about the event in any way, be it the artists booked, the location, or the mix of tech that Bay-area-based Sound On Stage (SOS) uses to make it all happen. This year, SOS—which has supplied sound for each iteration of the festival since its debut in 2001—extended its run of leaning on L-Acoustics to provide the PA for all seven of the festival’s… View this post

Provided by Live Sound Advice.   Few things can affect the quality of a sound as loudspeakers being out of polarity. You can lose bass response, cancel out vocals and cause general phase mayhem in a sound system. There are many ways to determine polarity; however, here’s a very inexpensive and easy solution to test for proper wiring inside loudspeaker cabinets before installing them, and without running any audio signal through them. See Thumper, below. It’s my trusted polarity signal… View this post

When the Knoxville Urban League needed a corporate event house to support its annual gala this year, they turned to Mike Brown, president of M&M Productions, for a turnkey event. Brown knew he needed a versatile system that would provide clarity and intelligibility for the many spoken presentations during the popular social event – while still being dynamic enough to support the powerhouse band, Tower of Power, for the concert portion of the evening. He turned to FBT for his… View this post
