Tools from Waves Audio were employed by front of house engineer Stephen Bailey for mixing live sound at the Passion 2016 conference. Passion 2016 was held simultaneously across three venues (with emphasis on the slogan “3 Locations, 2 Cities, 1 Heartbeat”), all linked by fiber and with satellite redundancy. Production for the event was managed by Black & White Live, with RAT Sound providing all audio systems and audio design, headed up by Matt Manix from Method Production Group.  A… View this post

Two Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing systems managed the recent two-month run of Green Day’s stage show, American Idiot, at Cirkus Theatre in Stockholm, Sweden. Parashoot PA was appointed to manage the sound, selecting S7000 Control Surface and DM64 MixRack at both front of house and monitors, and a ME system for personal monitors, from its hire stock. “I wasn’t sure at first when the producer asked me to design and engineer the show as we are a touring… View this post

Focusrite (NAB booth C9145) announces the release of RedNet PCIeR for Dante networks, part of the expanding RedNet range of Dante-compatible interface products offering network redundancy for reliability and to meet redundancy specification requirements. Functionally similar to the existing RedNet PCIe, RedNet PCIeR card adds dual RJ45 Ethernet ports, allowing two networks to be connected to the card, which can switch between them automatically according to network availability. The card supports 24-bit/192kHz operation with connected interfaces, and requires a standard… View this post

    optocore
    PSW Staff 04/13/16 09:30 AM,
The Fohhn Audio Linea Focus Series, which offers beam steering capabilities, is now equipped for networking via an Optocore fiber solution. Specifically, an Optocore SANE-FX module is mounted directly inside the Linea Focus housing, enabling direct fiber connection to the loudspeaker. The Linea Focus series is often used in combination with the security and evacuation system (PAVA), for instance, in railway stations, airports, tunnels and theatres. Because the Optocore fiber network is a modern IT-based “copper free” audio infrastructure, it… View this post

    Daniel L. Newman 04/12/16 01:33 PM,
This article is provided by Commercial Integrator   Looking out to the future is an ambitious goal. Many weeks when you are leading an integration business you are just trying to make it to Friday. However, when we do lift our head from the day-to-day for even a few minutes it doesn’t take long to realize how fast things change. Remember when we made money selling projectors? It wasn’t that long ago, but today it’s almost impossible. Remember when proprietary… View this post
