The new Kitchen & Bar Van Rijn adjoins the famous Escape Club on Amsterdam’s fashionable Rembrandtplein, and is owned by entrepreneurs Ton and Dick Poppes. Recently opened, the restaurant is laid out similar to a grand café, with a terrace and upstairs area. Inspired by the beauty and the masterpieces of Rembrandt van Rijn, guests can enjoy authentic Dutch cuisine in a cosmopolitan atmosphere with open kitchen and sound reinforcement from RCF.  The Poppes tapped 24/7 Audio, a locally based… View this post

Delicate Productions (Camarillo, CA) provided sound reinforcement for the recent U.S. concert tour by the Killers U.S. tour, which appeared in a variety of venues, including   mid-sized arenas, small theaters, casinos, and ballrooms. Delicate picked up the tour from Capital Sound in the UK, making a seamless transition in terms of coverage, audio quality and impact. Asked if the systems were similar, Killers front of house engineer James Gebhard says, “Absolutely identical. Capital and Delicate worked really well hand… View this post

Touring as a monitor engineer has taught me many tricks over the years. Here are some of my favorite pieces of advice for those who may be just starting out… Audio Logs Like Groundhog Day (or a symphony pops tour), I keep repeating the following: the best loudspeaker accessory is the simplest and cheapest. If you have nothing better to do one day, find an hour to cut some 2 x 4 lumber into one-foot lengths and paint them black.… View this post

The award-winning Bella Sky Comwell hotel in the Danish capital Copenhagen chose the Q-Sys integrated platform from QSC  to route and manage much of its extensive audio infrastructure, from background music to conference audio. The instantly recognizable hotel, with its dual ‘leaning towers’ design, was built in late 2011 as part of the Bella Center Conference venue on Amager, the island off Copenhagen where the city’s main airport and the Danish access to the international bridge and tunnel across the… View this post

Just because a venue is located in a small town and prides itself on its community links and support for local artists doesn’t mean that it is content with being simply average. The Godset Rock Club in Kolding, Denmark is an excellent case in point. “Although we are not a large community, the local government has been consistently supportive in our efforts to create a set of rehearsal rooms and a live venue that has quality written all over it,”… View this post

The ProPAD is a premium-performance variant on Auralex’s popular MoPAD. The ProPAD features a durable, three layer highly damped construction with increased durability and structural integrity, and provides superior isolation from the vibrations and resonant energy created by studio monitors. The ProPAD prevents this energy from being transmitted into the supporting furniture, which would greatly color the monitors’ sound… View this post

Stade Francois Coty, a French football stadium in the Corsican city of Ajaccio, France, has completed audio upgrades compliant to league standards, with seven Technomad advanced audio loudspeakers covering the entire venue. Home club AC Ajaccio recently transitioned to Ligue 2, also known as Division 2 in the LFP French professional football league. The league-imposed audio upgrades required a higher measure of intelligibility and audio coverage throughout the stadium — a quality the previous audio system lacked. Systems integration company… View this post
