As in years past, Harman Professional audio components played a crucial role in the live sound reinforcement system at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards, held February 12 at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. ATK Audiotek provided live sound reinforcement at the venue, relying on JBL VERTEC line arrays and AKG microphones. The annual GRAMMY Awards telecast, known as Music’s Biggest Night, is presented by The Recording Academy to honor outstanding achievements in the production and performance of recorded music.… View this post

    Gary Zandstra 02/21/12 02:01 PM,
Do you replace production/system equipment based on it being worn out or for new features and functionality? When we get a new system or new piece of gear, often the last thing on our minds is repairs or the life cycle of the system. In my view, churches are getting better at understanding professional A/V systems. I find that in general the market is more aware of the cost versus the expectation of the system, along with the willingness to… View this post

Living Stones Church in Red Deer, Alberta has a rather unique expansion plan. When funds are available, the church has plans to knock out one of the sanctuary sidewalls in order to build out the room’s mirror image. The result will be a wide, fan-shaped room that effectively doubles seating capacity from 700 to approximately 1,400. In anticipation of that expansion and because problems with the existing sound system had become unbearable, Living Stones Church contracted Merge Systems Inc. of… View this post

Community Professional Loudspeakers has applied for EN54-24 Certification of many of its large-scale loudspeaker systems. EN54-24 Certification will enable its loudspeakers to be used in voice alarm systems in venues across Europe. The international laboratory network of European Notified Body, Intertek, will be conducting the testing. Intertek’s newly opened Life Safety & Security testing facility in Leatherhead UK had been developed to accommodate larger products used in fire detection and evacuation and had the capacity to test Community’s loudspeakers (which… View this post

The multipurpose facility can be segmented using movable walls, accommodating not just basketball, but everything from baseball practice, pole vaulting and shot putting to convocations, and even the occasional swap meet. The arena recently received a major sound system upgrade, overseen… View this post
