On Celine Dion’s recent arena-scale tour of French-speaking lands on both sides of the Atlantic, she relied on Meyer Sound LEO Family reinforcement loudspeakers to provide an intimate connection with audiences despite the vast scale of tour’s four arenas. Once again the system was provided by Dion’s long-time audio reinforcement supplier, Solotech of Montreal. At every one of the sold-out shows, her loyal fans were enthralled by the direct connection they felt with Dion and her music. Tour front of… View this post

The old St. Mary’s Church, built in 1967, was admittedly due for a remodeling. Then in May of 2011, the city of Joplin was devastated by a catastrophic F-5 tornado, claiming scores of lives and hundreds of structures, including St. Mary’s, which was leveled except for its large iron cross. Nearly five years later, St. Mary’s new campus has been reborn, with a school, offices, and a 750-seat sanctuary that has been outfitted with Iconyx IC32-RN columns from Renkus-Heinz. The… View this post

    J. Alexander’s, the casual dining restaurant chain headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, has several dozen locations throughout the central U.S. In addition to the steaks, chops and seafood, diners in the Columbus location enjoy something else: an audio environment that is immersive but not overpowering. This is made possible by a combination of Bose Professional‘s Panaray MA12 modular line array loudspeakers, coupled with the Bose ControlSpace processor and a PowerMatch PM8500 amplifier. “I don’t know how they do it, but they… View this post

Lock N Load Events’ annual South West Four (SW4) Bank Holiday Weekend festival on Clapham Common this year reached new sound thresholds set by Lambeth Council as Capital Sound again set to work with the Martin Audio MLA multi-cellular system. Working for the third consecutive year with promoter Andrew Mattle, the responsibility for MLA has slowly extended from main stage, where drum & bass kings Rudimental and veteran techno specialists Chemical Brothers headlined, into the three support tents. Dedicated to healthcare education since its founding as Jefferson Medical College in 1824, Thomas Jefferson University now comprises six healthcare-oriented colleges, including the renowned Sidney Kimmel Medical College. Naturally, the university’s buildings have evolved to suit changing needs, and Alumni Hall is no exception. Last year, a space in Alumni Hall that had housed a small medical museum was converted into a multi-use room to accommodate events, including dinners with entertainment. Last summer, when the C$50M new Cogeco Amphitheatre in Trois-Rivières, Quebec experienced issues with a fixed sound system that turned out to be less than ideal, the venue had to find a temporary PA to handle the wide range of performances and concerts that it now regularly hosts. Often filling its 3,500 seats and adding up to 5,500 more people who settle in on its grassy esplanade, the venue needed a rider-friendly PA capable of covering 9,000 spectators in those… View this post

The latest outing for Coldplay has just arrived in the US; a mix of arena and stadium shows supported by sound systems based on J-Series arrays and subwoofers from d&b audiotechnik. “Through Europe Wigwam supplied the system, but we took two audio techs from New York based Firehouse, who provides the system over here,” explained system designer Tony Smith. “Having Alex Fedrizzi and Brett Taylor from Firehouse out in Europe has proved very positive in the transition phase to the… View this post
