Courtesy of Merlijn van Veen.   Why does a specification like “We need a sound system capable of delivering full range 103 dB(A) of clear and undistorted sound at the front of house position” make me scratch my head? Because, typically the mix doesn’t exhibit an A-weighted spectrum. Never mind that it doesn’t mention an integration time (average)… View this post

Finland’s Lakeuden Risti Church, located in the town of Seinäjoki, the Lutheran church was designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, and built between 1957 and 1960.  Yet despite being listed as a nationally significant heritage site, the church has long struggled with an acoustically challenging environment that left worshippers struggling to appreciate sermons until the recent addition of Renkus-Heinz beam steering. With a name that translates as “Cross of the Plains,” Lakeuden Risti Church is one of Finland’s most recognizable… View this post

Wall Sound and Lighting, based in the Canadian national capital of Ottawa, has secured its place as a major player in the region’s high-end event rental market by investing in a Meyer Sound LEO Family reinforcement system. “Here in Ottawa we’re sandwiched between Toronto and Montreal, which means we face stiff competition from large regional providers on the major events,” notes Neil Collier, senior project manager for the company. “Our recent investment in Meyer Sound’s LEO Family not only has… View this post

Education standards in Singapore rank among the highest in the world, and the facilities to be found in Singaporean schools are suitably impressive. The most recent example can be found within the senior school campus at Dulwich College (Singapore), where a 700-seat auditorium is now available for students to use. Providing equally impressive sound reinforcement is an audio installation based on Renkus-Heinz‘s VARIAi modular installation array. Not to be confused with the London-based school of the same name, Dulwich College… View this post
