Henley Festival is an annual, five-day experience that celebrates the best of international and UK music, art, food and comedy in a quintessentially British location. The Festival began as an idea in 1983 to bring music and culture to the town of Henley-on-Thames––and sound production company RG Jones Audio Engineering has been involved in the five-day, black tie affair almost since the beginning––fielding Martin Audiobased PA systems on the various stages for much of that time. In 2016, the Festival… View this post

Peter Gabriel and Sting recently took their Rock Paper Scissors double bill on the road, visiting 20 cities across the United States and Canada. The self-described “karaoke night” of greatest hits featured the pair performing their own songs and covering each other’s songs in addition to guesting with each other’s bands, with as many as 14 musicians on stage at once. The tour carried a 270-degree PA system comprising L-Acoustics K1 and K2 modules with K1-SB and SB28 subwoofers, as… View this post

Greenwich High School’s first class graduated back in 1898 but its current 54-acre campus dates to 1970. With approximately 2,650 students, more than 1,400 of whom are enrolled in music and theater courses, it had far outgrown its old auditorium, which also suffered from poor acoustics, poor sightlines, and other shortcomings. As part of a massive expansion project begun in July 2013, the school constructed a new Performing Arts Center featuring a 1,325-seat, 35,000-foot auditorium with a proper stage, orchestra… View this post

Sometimes every card in the deck appears stacked against the goal of achieving consistently high-quality audio in a fixed install. However, in the case of John’s Creek, Georgia’s Perimeter Church—where contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Laura Story serves as a worship leader—the audio team was recently able to overcome a host of longstanding room challenges with a new L-Acoustics Kara line arrays. “This room,” notes Perimeter Church director of Technical Ministry Steve Simmons talking about their sanctuary, “was originally designed to do… View this post

Twenty One Pilots, with music falling somewhere between the genres of alternative rock, electropop, hip hop, and indie, has captured worldwide attention since the 2015 release Blurryface. Inevitably, this has led to playing bigger shows than the band has ever seen before. Right now, Twenty One Pilots is in the midst of an 11-month tour dubbed the “Emotional Roadshow World Tour.” The band performs at venues ranging from amphitheaters the size of Berkeley, California’s 8,500-capacity Greek Theatre to Pennsylvania’s 30,000-capacity… View this post

Berlin-based Complete Audio recently provided sound reinforcement for a concert by Sting at the 24,000-seat Waldbühne Berlin in the Olympic Park––the first time they have worked with the artist. As this was not a full production tour, PA and lights were sourced on a local basis, and Martin Audio’s premier rental partner was on hand to provide its MLA multi-cellular loudspeaker array. “We offered MLA and they were happy to take it,” reports Complete Audio MD, André Rauhut. While the… View this post

Bellevue, Washington’s Calvary Chapel Eastside has been in a building project for nearly a decade. During that time, they were paying attention to the technology that would support their message in the church and take them far into the future. The new church’s new sound system system, built around a Roland M-5000 OHRCA live mixing console, was installed by AV systems sales and integration provider CCI Solutions also includes L-Acoustics ARCS WIFO line arrays. “It’s been a slow build, but… View this post

The Bergen Performing Arts Center—aka BergenPAC—a non-profit theater in Englewood, New Jersey has recently chosen to add a permanent house system which features Kara line arrays from L-Acoustics. Originally built as the Englewood Plaza movie theater in 1926, the venue re-opened, after several iterations, in 2004 with its 1,367-seat auditorium hosting 200 shows a year by a diverse roster of performers, including Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, John Legend, Jerry Lewis and Willie Nelson. The facility is also home… View this post
