Though he now makes his home in Studio City, CA, I first met Berklee graduate Paul David Hager in the 1980s Boston club scene. For the last five years, he’s been mixing the Goo Goo Dolls, who are busy touring this summer in support of their new recording “Something for the Rest of Us,” a release that was delayed so that Hager could remix it. He’s also been mixing Miley Cyrus live for the last two years. Hager has his…

Sacramento Production Services again provided audio and staging for the three-day Sierra Nevada World Music Fest 2010 which featured record crowds and a wide variety of artists in Northern California. The crew from SACPS included Production Manager/Monitor Engineer Keith Wackford, FOH Engineer/Rigger Dwaine Wise, and Monitor Engineer/Patch Master Rick Stansby. As in past years, Martin Audio was the choice of SACPS for loudspeakers, in this case the compact W8LC line array enclosures. This was because “one of the biggest bonuses…

For most people handling one full-time job is more than enough, but not fast facts for Harold Cummings – CEO of Miami’s Drummer Boy Sound Productions by day, and police officer by night. To say Cummings is a busy man is putting it very mildly, but while his work doesn’t allow for much in terms of down time, it does offer him a unique opportunity to indulge his passion for sound reinforcement and business, and to give back to his…

He’s a noted guitar player who’s toured with Steve Perry (ex of Journey), recorded an album, and has songwriting credits that include popular contemporary Christian songs such as “Let The Praises Ring” and “Today Is The Day.” A member of Bayside Church in Roseville, CA, for the past 10 years, Brewster has spent the last seven years in his current role, and he recently…

Robert Collins has mixed Eric Clapton for two decades, the first on a Midas XL4, and then, when channel count would have pushed him into a second console, he made the switch early on to a DiGiCo D5. He’s stayed with that same low serial number D5 supplied by Concert Sound ever since. He prefers to use his console in an analog manner and shuns the use of scenes, simply preferring to generally mix manually, rather than manage a set…
