For sound reinforcement, monitoring and audio networking Stage Entertainment has chosen audio technology from the Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup. An AURUS console with 40 faders and the…

At the upcoming NAB 2012 Show, Stagetec is unveiling a new interface board for the NEXUS network system that can be used in new and existing networks. The current production of the multiple Tony Award-winning musical Follies at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., presents a beautiful yet haunting study of youth as seen through the eyes of age and experience. Featuring a score recognized as one of Stephen Sondheim’s greatest works, Follies originally opened on Broadway in the spring of 1971, running for more than 500 performances in the Winter Garden Theatre. The limited-run revival at the Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theatre, which began in early May…

This year is the tipping point for digital consoles in regional and festival sound reinforcement. Discussions of sound quality aside, the benefits of digital consoles – consistency, repeatability, recall and automation – force users to adopt the new way and the advantage it brings to live events where the same console is not dragged from one gig to the next. Vendors contemplating the purchase of a console must ask themselves who will be using their new mixing board, who the…
