With this in mind, outside broadcast specialist United chose DPA Microphones’ 5100 Mobile Surround Microphone to capture the ambience of the Amsterdam Arena when SL Benfica played Chelsea in the 2013 UEFA Europa League Final. “UEFA was adamant that the broadcast quality had to be… View this story

Stade Francois Coty, a French football stadium in the Corsican city of Ajaccio, France, has completed audio upgrades compliant to league standards, with seven Technomad advanced audio loudspeakers covering the entire venue. Home club AC Ajaccio recently transitioned to Ligue 2, also known as Division 2 in the LFP French professional football league. The league-imposed audio upgrades required a higher measure of intelligibility and audio coverage throughout the stadium — a quality the previous audio system lacked. The Widener University Pride football team has plenty to be proud of: two NCAA Division III National Championships, reaching the semi-finals three more times, and winning more MAC Championships than any other Middle Atlantic Conference team. Unfortunately, the aging audio system at the University’s Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium was not up to the same championship standards. Plagued by long-standing coverage and sound quality issues, the school’s Athletic Director Jack Shafer called on Widener alumnus Art Kalemkarian, who designed a… View this story

In the days before InfoComm, representatives from Danley Sound Labs arranged an impromptu demonstration of the Danley Jericho Horn family of beefy point-source loudspeakers for long-throw applications. The team rented a 25kV generator and a lift and found an undeveloped industrial park in the desert adjacent to Nellis Air Force Base. Although originally arranged for the benefit of a few representatives from a large university who were considering a Danley Jericho system for their stadium, word of mouth swelled the… View this story
