Arvest Ballpark, the 6,500-seat ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, the Texas League/Double-A affiliate for the Kansas City Royals, features PA system headed by EAW MK2300 and MK5300 Series loudspeakers backed by EAW KF750 high-output point source loudspeakers with the company’s proprietary V4 Technology. Audio rental system provider Above Productions of Hamilton, New Zealand, recently purchased new JBL VERTEC portable line arrays for regional events, including VT4887A compact line array elements and VT4880A full-size arrayable subwoofers, supported by JBL VRX compact constant-curvature systems and powered by Crown amplifiers. Above Productions recently deployed the new system for the TSB Bank Fireworks Spectacular, held at the TSB Bowl in New Plymouth, Zealand. Doug Rogers, founder of the EastWest software instrument company, has purchased and re-opened the recording studio located at 6000 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, the site of historic recordings by a who’s who of the last four decades, from Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra through The Beach Boys to Green Day and Madonna. Pro Sound & Communications of Bellingham, Washington recently upgraded the sound reinforcement system at the Carver Gymnasium on the campus of Western Washington University (WWU), also in Bellingham. Designed by Thom Mullins of BRC Acoustics Consulting, the upgraded system is headlined by a wide range of Electro-Voice components.
