Kid Rock and his band, Twisted Brown Trucker, are once again rolling across the U.S. with two months of arena shows between February and April. Along for the ride are not only opening acts Buckcherry and Hellbound Glory, but also another “old friend” – Sound Image’s L-Acoustics K1 system. Southern California-based Sound Image has now joined the list of North American L-Acoustics K1/KUDO Pilot Program companies. At the request of Robert Scovill, Tom Petty’s longtime front of house engineer, Sound Image took delivery of L-Acoustics’ K Standard package comprised of 48 K1 and 36 KUDO enclosures, 24 K1-SB and 24 SB28 subs, plus accompanying LA-RAK amplified controller racks. John Legend’s most recent tour in support of his album release Evolver extended through much of 2009, ending up with sold-out shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Touring with a sound reinforcement system provided by Escondido, CA-based Sound Image, the main PA included Adamson Systems line arrays powered by Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers. Ross Ritto, Founder and CEO of Sound Image, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the age of 60. Born in Rochester, NY, Ross spent nearly 40 years in the sound reinforcement business, helping to grow the company that would provide touring systems, and eventually full systems integration. The 2009 No Doubt Summer Tour, which culminated in August with a show at the Neal S.
